Stripes are a mainstay in goth fashion and are incredibly versatile; from thin pinstripes on a smart suit to thick horizontal stripes on a dress, they can be either subtle or bold. Fashion "rules" dictate that in order to look slimmer a person should stay away from horizontal stripes but the most fashionable people in history never listened to that tripe!
I love stripes, they're great whether you're dressing down or dressing up and for someone who wears 97% black they go with most things in my wardrobe. I like to go for the classic black & white stripe and sometimes I throw in another colour for an eye-catching pop, even if it's just a bright lipstick.
This is a great light dress for the summer, a more casual outfit for when 32C heat makes wearing all-black a burden.
My favourite striped item is definitely the five-layer bustle skirt that I made myself. It's so ruffly and the bustle is huuuuge! It's such a fun skirt! I made it with the help of this tutorial from Cut Out + Keep
(sorry, crap photo! taking a picture of your own bum is harder than you'd think)
Here's a bonus Stripey photo! (with an even better bonus -- THE IRON THRONE!)
